Notifications

Different notification types are supported: in-app, email, app push, web push, Telegram and Whatsapp, etc, which are sent out to members based on activity on the network.

Notification types#

A number of notification types are supported:

  1. Webapp in-app
  2. Email
  3. SMS
  4. Native app push notifications
  5. Installable webapp Web Push
  6. Telegram
  7. Whatsapp

Controlling notification types#

  1. Notification types can be controlled per Network Site under Member Settings.
  2. In-app notifications are persistent and cannot be turned off.
  3. Notifications are ON by default and can be opted-out - individually on each Network Site for fine-grained control.
  4. Examples:
  5. Keep email notification ON for Network A, and email notification OFF with Telegram notification ON for Network B.
  6. Keep email notification OFF and get all notifications via Android app push notifications for Network A, while keeping email notification ON for Network B.
Turning off notification types affects Optional notifications only. Essential and transactional notifications that are required will still be sent even if these settings are off.

Notification events#

Notifications are sent out to members based on activity on the network. Some notifications are mandatory, while others are optional.

Mandatory notifications

These include essential and transactional notifications:

  1. OTP on new account creation
  2. Welcome upon successfully creating an account
  3. Password reset
  4. Form submission confirmation to submitter
  5. Event registration confirmation to attendee

Mandatory notifications cannot be turned off, and will be delivered via all notification types available and on record.

Optional notifications

  1. Information to referrer when referral joins the network
  2. New comment or reply added to conversation
  3. Update to form post creator upon new form submission
  4. Update to event post creator upon new event registration
  5. Question received an Answer
  6. Open Poll received a public Response
  7. Poll votes crossed threshold
  8. Content upvoted and/or starred
  9. Request to access channel / Channel access granted
  10. DM request
  11. New chat message
  12. Member subscribed to member stories
