This allows the following, where members A and B have accounts on a Maincross network:
- Account holder (member A) ie the Delegator gives publishing rights to a trusted person eg a subordinate, or social media handler, etc ie the Delegate (member B).
- The delegate B can now post anything on behalf of delegator A, without getting access to A's account.
- B will not be able to see (or modify) A's details, settings, notifications, etc.
- B cannot participate on any network on behalf of A. Participate means taking part in polls, up/down voting, direct or group chat, making purchases etc.
- B can only edit such content that they have posted on behalf of the delegator. Content posted by other delegates of A are not accessible for editing.
- B cannot delete any of A's posts, not even the ones posted by B themselves as the delegate.
- A can change delegates at any time, or can turn off delegation completely anytime - both settings take effect immediately.
In short, delegation allows an extremely restricted right to be granted from one member account to another, only to post & edit content (posts, comments & pages) using one of the many MainCross authoring tools.
We strongly recommend that passwords are not shared between multiple users in order to post from a specific account. This reduces the security of that account. Instead, please use the delegation feature to allow a delegated member to post on behalf of the delegator account.

Controlling delegation
Settings are available under User > Profile > Delegation tab.
This facility is only available to Pro Accounts.
The master switch turns off delegation completely.
Adding delegates
A maximum of 5 delegates can be setup.
Click on the Add Delegate expander to add a new delegate. As a security measure, the delegator must know the exact username of the delegate member.
Please take care to delegate your account to correct & trusted members. This powerful feature allows anyone to post on your behalf. You continue being responsible for Terms of Service violation, if any.
Managing existing delegates
A list of delegates can be viewed in the table. In this example, member @mcDemo2 has given delegated access to @mcDemo1 and @debug2. Delegation to an account can be revoked by clicking on "Remove".
Posting rights
The delegator has complete access & control to all content created by the delegate. Content published by a delegate are indistinguishable from content made the delegator herself. Delegated posts can be edited, deleted by the delegator as normal.
For the delegate, ie the delegation grantee#
A member can be the delegate for multiple delegators, ie member A, member C, member D may all delegate to member B. The list of accounts which have delegated to you can be view on the same page (User > Profile > Delegation tab) under Your delegators.
Publishing a post
When the delegate member B is crafting content, she may choose to publish the content as one of the delegators (A, C, D). This facility is integrated into the existing authoring tools.
In this example, member @mcDemo1 is choosing to post as @mcDemo2.
Publishing a comment
When the delegate member B is writing a comment, she may choose to publish the content as one of the delegators (A, C, D). This facility is integrated into the existing authoring tools.
In this example, member @mcDemo1 is choosing to comment as @mcDemo2.
After posting as the delegator
An info bar indicates when a post has been published by the delegate (B) on behalf of the delegator (A). For privacy reasons, this information is only visible to the delegate and the delegator.
Editing the post
The delegate (B) has the same rights as the delegator (A) to edit the content. B can only edit those content that they have posted on behalf of the delegator. Others posts belonging to A are not accessible for editing.
Deleting the post
The delegate (B) is not allowed to delete posts they have made on behalf of the delegator (A). This is a security measure.
