Scan post type

Extract text from an image automatically and create an Update post from it.

Scan post adds an additional step before creating an Update post - it allows one to automatically extract all the text from an image and insert into the post body.

This post type is meant to be used when an image has a lot of text, and its useful to have the text be a part of the post, eg to enable the post to show up in search.

Scan the image

Select the image to be scanned - center the text to be extracted by zooming in/out, rotation, and panning the image as required. Then click on the Extract & Create Post button.

It may take a short while to extract the text.

Edit the post as desired

Once the process of text extraction is complete, the editor is automatically populated from the text in the image, and the image is also pre-inserted. At this point, its a regular Update post and one can edit the post as required before publishing - change the text, add more context, add heading, add more images, add hashtags etc.
