All members have the right to delete their own content at any time, including those created by delegates.
However some content cannot be deleted by the member, and some content will need help from support.
Deleting a post#
The post delete button always resides at the same location on the post, and is represented uniformly across all posts.
A final confirmation is needed before the post is permanently deleted.
If one presses Do not delete - nothing will happen.
If one presses Yes, delete - then the post is deleted from a number of MainCross services including databases, CDN, search, social feeds, link preview caches and so on. This process can take upto 30 secs. Content may still remain in various caches for a while, but is certain to disappear within an hour or so.
Restrictions on post deleting#
Featured post
If a Network or Channel Hero has Featured a member's post, then it cannot be deleted by the member. If the member wants to delete the post, they have to contact a Hero to get the post removed from the Featured section.
Question post type
Once a question post has received 1 or more Answers, it can no longer be deleted.
Poll post type
An Open Poll, ie without options is treated similar to the Question post type. If it has received 1 or more Responses, it can no longer be deleted.
Survey / Quiz post type
Surveys and Quizzes cannot be deleted at this time. Please contact support for this.
Deleting a chat message#
Any chat message can be delete anytime by clicking on the 3 dot kabab menu and selecting Delete.
