Monetizing your Network Site

Monetize your digital property via various innovative methods - digital subscriptions, event ticketing, selling products or services, sublicensing channels, etc. Keep all your earnings and maximize your revenue streams - MainCross charges 0 sales commissions.

Network operators (ie Network Heroes) have a number of ways to monetize their digital property running on a MainCross instance.

The first step to monetization is to set up the Payment Gateway (PG) in the Hero Dashboard.

This facility is only available for paid Networks, ie one cannot monetize a Network running on a MainCross free tier.

Charging end users (members)#

These transactions are performed on the MainCross system and tracked by the system. Payments are made by the end user and are directly paid via the PG and settled into the Network Operators' account. MainCross does not charge a commission off the sales.

Standard methods

  1. Social commerce
  2. Event ticketing
  3. Digital subscriptions to access PROtected and PRIvate channels via a paywall
  4. Digital subscriptions for upgrading regular accounts to Pro Account
  5. IFTT (If This Then That) payment flows

Social commerce - selling products (goods or services)

The MainCross native social commerce engine allows e-commerce transactions from browsing to checkout without needing to leave the platform. No third party solution or integration is required. Multiple configurations are possible to create simple or complex solutions as desired.

Event ticketing

Ticketing can be turned on for any online or offline event - this allows collection of payments for event attendance, with optional tax, discount codes, and limited seats. 2 pricing mechanisms are supported: fixed and pay-as-you-like.

Channel subscription

Channels which have been configured to be Protected or Private require the setting up of an Access Control List for allowing access to the channel. Each channel can setup a paywall to control access to the channel. Access is granted automatically to the member for the configured duration, upon payment.

Digital subscriptions for upgrading regular accounts to Pro Account

Every paid Network has a quota of Pro accounts depending on the Tier. Network Operators can sell yearly subscriptions from the quota of Pro accounts available.

This feature is expected to be released in June 2024. (Network Operators were always able to sell yearly subscriptions to Pro outside the MainCross system.)

IFTT (If This Then That) payment flows

Multi-step payment flows can be hooked up, depending on the usecase. One such flow is possible via the MainCross Form Workflows.

MainCross Social+

Go further with the MainCross FormBuilder to create complex multi-step flows | MainCross Social+

WorkFlows are a major upgrade to the FormBuilder - it allows one to build branching logic, ie IFTT (If This Then That) easily, as well as setup...

Custom methods

In addition to the standard methods available, any custom payment methods and flows can be build on top of the existing system. Contact us if this is desired.

Charging Channel Operators#

Networks operators can choose to sublicense channels to Channel Operators (ie Channel Heroes). The charge for the sublicensing is whatever the Network operator wishes, and this transaction is performed and tracked outside the MainCross system.

This facility is only available for the higher tiers - Thriving and Booming.
