Expanding reach with the upcoming multi-modal Communication Suite

The upcoming Communication suite will enhance audience engagement and distribution, offering network operators more control and tools for direct, on-demand communication with their audience.

Underlying philosophies of the MainCross system

First a bit of stopover to revisit our mission statement: Create the most complete elegant digital system that just works and has solutions for solving many of the usual use-cases that everyone needs. Without breaking the bank.

Hold the thought.

Reaching an audience wherever they are in multiple ways, ie "distribution" has been an important aspect of the MainCross system from the start - whether for content distribution, or audience engagement, or as a brand marketing channel, or lead generation, or to make revenue via social commerce - whatever be the Network Operator's need.

Network Sites which run on the MainCross system can access their audience data as 1st party data. I cannot stress enough how important this is, for multiple reasons:

  1. Once the audience has been acquired, remarketing cost is ZERO, as compared to standard socmed where the audience is rented, and hence once incurs a cost repeatedly to reach the audience.
  2. The phasing out of third party cookies will cause an upheaval in the shitty ad business, and the only services which will make money are those who own their own data

There is no substitute for proper 1st party user data in the long run, and networks running on the MainCross system allow network operators to get a holistic view of their audience, with details, analytics, subscriptions, payments et al working seamlessly together.

This is simply not possible on any other socmed or marketing / communication platform or services.

  • While it is very easy to reach an audience on standard socmed, it is still post based (remember "ads" are nothing but sponsored posts), the audience is rented, there is a recurring expense and the ROI is unclear and the stats may be suspect.
  • Email of course is a solid, tried and tested mechanism that is evergreen, privacy respecting and a great way to reach an audience (Psst unless that audience is in India, bwahaha, a story for another day). But its not holistic since its limited only to email sending.
  • And lets not even talk about bulk sending on Whatsapp - which is so complex, it might need a PhD to setup and endless $$$ to sustain due to extractive & opportunistic ecosystem.

Putting it together, its kind of obvious that we need to make "Communication" into its own pillar of the MainCross System, ie after Content, Community, Commerce, which will open up the multi-modal communication mechanisms we have already built.

Communications under the Community pillar

We already have myriad mechanisms (in-app notifications, email, SMS, push notifications, messenger, etc) to automatically notify members (and operators) when events occur eg comments, event registration, forms fills, transactions etc.

Members can also inform their subscribers of new content, ie the Notify Subscriber feature.

Additionally there is Conversational Messaging for group and direct messaging.

Communication as its stand-alone pillar

Nevertheless, the Network Operator probably feels a bit left out! We need to add new tools for on-demand bulk notification and content delivery by the Network Operator.

The upcoming Communication suite (ie the 4th pillar after Content, Community, Commerce) will expand the tools available to operators to increase distribution mechanisms and reach their audience wherever they are.

The Communication suite will focus on 3 bulk delivery mechanisms: email, push notification and Whatsapp messenger.

We roughly been focusing on 1 pillar every calendar year, so after Content -> Community -> Commerce (this year), next year should be dedicated to Communication🤞
