How can we showcase specific products on the homepage?

We will be listing 50+ products on our site. The product listing tools are good, but we are not clear on the product display on the site. Is there a way to highlight a select few products on the homepage? Can there be a trending product showcase section - something to show most viewed products? Can we have enquire button on each listed product?
