Major updates
- Telegram signin - In order to make it extremely easy and efficient for vast majority of users who may not have email IDs, or who dislike signing in with Facebook / Google - we now have another method - signin with #Telegram.
- If the Telegram ID being used is already associated with a member (eg for notification), then a new account is NOT created and Telegram login is seamlessly available for the existing account.
- Content search v1 * - Deep search through all the content on the Network! As Network Sites gets busier with more content, channels and members, search is an excellent way to quickly and effectively find what one is looking for. The MainCross system is also being used by community platforms like Hoten which are creating a deep human powered and curated archive of geo-issue-political raw news and information, and search is a critical component for media professionals and researchers to find information quickly. #ContentSearch
* Feature is in beta.
Minor updates
- Conversation post type can open the image in a popup, with pan and zoom both on desktop and mobile.
- The minimum length of the Display Name field has been reduced to 3 from 4.
- Link preview / unfurling
- Special handling of malformed meta tags from other sites when link unfurling for display. Eg some sites stick long descriptions into og:site_name, some sites don't send og:url
- Special handling for Twitter links which sends a horrible tiny image - this is replaced by a larger image version automatically before the link is unfurled
UI changes
- New search UI
- The bottom navigation bar on mobile automatically changes the "topics" destination to "channels" if there are organization or persona channels on the network
- Email notifications show the Network Site's description in footer, rather than the MainCross default description.
- A loading bar is shown when comments are loading.
Issues fixed
- The snippet of the comment that shows in email notifications sometimes would lose white spaces between words
- If one performs a subscribe/unsubscribe action on a content page, then navigates to a non content page, and immediately comes back to the original content page - the updated sub/usub status would not be shown. This is a visual error only, under the special conditions described above.
