Updates
- #comments have been upgraded - members can now upload upto 4 images in a comment. These display in a grid, and open in a full screen lightroom.
- Persona channels have gotten some much needed TLC
- They can be setup similar to Org channels, with a cover image, and with all the goodies that Org channels have - shopfronts, custom menu, custom subpages, etc
- The complete moderation tools #ModerationTools are now available for posts in Persona channels.
- Enhancements to Network & Channel Heroes:
- Network & Channel Champion (NCC) role has been retired.
- Network and Channel Moderator (NCM) role is available on all paid networks.
- Channel Heroes permissions have been expanded and revamped.
- Read the help article for more details.
- Pro accounts can no longer bypass post restrictions. Only Heroes can. It does not make sense to allow Pro accounts to be able to create Post types that are not allowed on the network. This reverses the decision taken in release v3.14.0.
- In order to further ensure that Article Posts are distinct from Update Posts, and to prevent simple posts from being posted as Articles, the following has changed:
- Publishing (and editing an existing post) now requires a minimum of 250 words (up from 220), and a featured image
- Pro accounts can no longer bypass this check
- Special consideration for Hero accounts - minimum of 100 words in body and may not have a featured image
- A list of checks at the bottom of the Article authoring tool graphically shows what is missing (due to which the publish button has not been enabled)
- Since Article Posts have become more restrictive, Update Post type limit has been increased to 2000 characters (up from 1500)
- Under the hood improvements for Answers to Question and Responses to Open Poll - these are now cached at a CDN and will load super fast.
- Clicking on a comment notification from another network, will open on that network (same as other notifications from another network).
UI changes
- Topic channel enhancements:
- Topic card on content pages and lists gives preference to the Topic icon (if set) over the Topic featured image (if set). See it live.
- Topic card on the channel gives preference to the Topic featured image (if set) over the Topic icon (if set). If both are present, the icon is overlaid on image. See it live.
- We strongly recommend setting BOTH the icon and the featured image.
- The somewhat incorrectly named Pro dashboard has been renamed across the board to Hero Dashboard. This is in anticipation of a Pro Dashboard to be released for Pro accounts.
